🌸Mom's Journals, entry # 19

   🌸 Reflections from Mom’s Journals — Entry #19

🌸 Abundance flows when we love what we are doing.

🌸  Examine what I believe to be impossible… then change my beliefs.

🌸  Let my loving soul guide my behavior.

💭Examine the Impossible

Examine what I believe to be impossible… then change my beliefs.

Here’s a little trick I’ve learned: whenever something feels impossible, it’s usually just my brain doing its best dramatic performance, like it is auditioning for a soap opera. You know the type—“Cue the violins, this project is clearly the end of me!” But let’s be honest, most “impossible” things are just… big. Too big to swallow whole.

So instead of brushing it off (or chasing the next squirrel that runs across the yard—hi ADHD, nice to see you again), I’ve found that breaking it down into teeny, tiny bite-sized pieces makes it doable. Like eating a whole cake one forkful at a time. Sweet, slow, and steady.  Yummy!

🌀 ADHD Brain, Party of One

Yes, I chase squirrels. No, I don’t apologize for it.

Confession: I didn’t get my official ADHD stamp until I was almost 40. And suddenly, all (okay, you got me... a few) of my “quirks” had a name! My thoughts? Picture fleets of torpedoes—fast, sparkly, shooting in every direction, usually when I need them to chill.

But here’s the truth: I am not my thoughts. Thoughts are just visitors, like houseguests who may or may not wipe their feet on the welcome mat. Some are sweet, some are noisy, and most of them aren’t even mine—they’re hand-me-downs from parents, culture, institutions, or the nosy neighbor who thinks she knows best.

The trick? Ask: Is this thought true? Do I even believe it? Or do I just keep it around like a pair of ugly shoes I don’t wear? If it’s not mine, or not serving me—bye-bye, darling. ✨   Time to swap those old shoes out for something fabulous. Toss the tennies and scale up to the 6-inchers! Marvelous…

❤️ If You’re Not Doing What You Love… Darling, Why Bother?

Life’s too short for bad jobs, bad vibes, or bad bangs.

This quote, I adore: “If you’re not doing what you love, you’re wasting your time.” And while most folks take that to mean work, I say let’s stretch it out a bit. Because it’s not just about your job—it’s about where you live, who you share your days with, the hobbies you (hopefully) make time for, and whether or not you’re actually living your dreams—or just drifting through life like you’re stuck in a foggy morning commute.

😱 My 20-Plus years detour

Cue the dramatic gasp and insert a “YIKES.”

For over twenty years—yes, TWENTY—I was not living in alignment with loving my life. I didn’t like my job, my body, my habits, the person I shared my days with, some of my friends, and, worst of all—I didn’t like myself.

Reading that makes me want to grab a megaphone and shout: Never again!  But regret doesn’t serve us, darling. We can’t time-travel back to change it (and if I could, trust me, I’d have better bangs in 2003, and most definitely in 1989!)  What we can do is grab hold of what’s in front of us.

🌟 Awareness Is Half the Battle

The other half is lipstick and bravery.  💋✨

So here’s my heartfelt plea: pause. Ask yourself if you’re happy where you are—or if you’ve been wandering through life on autopilot.

If the answer leans more “meh” than marvelous, don’t panic. Start small. Make little tweaks, sprinkle in some sparkle, and when you’re ready, go bold. Leap into your next “take two.” Or “take twenty.” Life isn’t one single shot—it’s a whole series of reshoots.

So darling, live big, live bold, live with sass. Awareness is half the battle. The other half? Courage, glitter, and a killer shade of red lipstick. 💋✨ 💋✨

💋✨Until next time... keep loving & living your best life!

🦋Wishing you Love, Light & Sparkles!

🌸 Carrie

🌸Mom's Journals, entry #1

My dad recently found two journals that belonged to my mother and gifted them to me—what a treasure!  S he often wrote positive messages and quotes on index cards and placed them strategically throughout the house. I never knew, until today, that she also kept journals filled with these quotes and messages. I've decided to share the wonderful and inspiring entries from her journals with you. I hope you enjoy reading them and that they bring you inspiration or teach you something new. I'll be posting one page at a time, so I hope you'll keep checking back for more.
