Well Howdy, Y’all! 🤠

Oooo darlin’, let me tell ya somethin’—this here book Secrets of the Lost Mode of Prayer hit me harder than a Texas hailstorm in July. And believe me, I’ve seen hailstones big enough to knock a cow clean off her feet.

Gregg Braden digs deep into ancient Navajo traditions, talkin’ about prayer, happiness, and takin’ ownership of our own lives. Now, I don’t know about you, but sometimes it’s mighty tempting to point fingers when life’s throwin’ cow patties our way. But Braden? He ain’t havin’ it. He says happiness—and even our suffering—is something we wrangle ourselves. No rodeo clown’s gonna save ya here, sugar, you gotta climb on that bull of life and ride it yourself.

Reflections: Nuggets of Wisdom with a Side of Sass 💎

One line that nearabout knocked my boots off was:
“Wisdom is the healed expression of our hurt.”

Now ain’t that shinier than a diamond tiara under a honky-tonk disco ball? Instead of lettin’ our pain turn us bitter as old coffee grounds, Braden says we can polish it into wisdom. I don’t know about y’all, but that gives me hope that my scars can sparkle like glitter instead of sittin’ heavy in my soul.

Another gem was:
“Life is nothing more, and nothing less, than a mirror of what we’ve become within.”

Whew! That one’ll stop you faster than hittin’ a pothole on a country dirt road. Makes you realize—what you see in the world is a reflection of what’s rattlin’ around inside your own heart. No excuses, sugarpie. You gotta own it.

Insights: Prayer Ain’t Just Beggin’ 🙏✨

Braden digs into how prayer ain’t about beggin’ like you’re askin’ a banker for one more extension. Instead, it’s about feelin’ it deep in your bones—livin’ that prayer like it’s already true.

The Navajo say it so beautifully:
“Nizhonigoo bil iina.”
“The beauty that you live with, the beauty that you live by, the beauty upon which you base your life.”

Ain’t that smoother than fresh-churned butter? Instead of rattlin’ off words, it’s about steppin’ into beauty and livin’ it out loud.

Recommendation: Who Needs This Book? 🌸

If you’re feelin’ stuck—like a truck bogged down in red clay after a rainstorm—this book’s the tow rope you didn’t know you needed. It’ll tug you out of your rut and remind ya that life’s too short to just sit there blamin’ the mud.

I’d recommend this little gem to anyone who needs a push toward personal responsibility with a whole lotta hope sprinkled on top like glitter at a county fair parade.

Final Say:

Gregg Braden didn’t just hand me a book—he handed me a mirror. And darlin’, it was shinier than a bedazzled belt buckle. This one’s worth readin’, highlightin’, and maybe even sleepin’ with under your pillow in case you need a late-night pep talk from the universe.

Until next time, keep shining, loving & living your best life!

🌸Wishing you Love, Light & Sparkles!

🌸 Carrie

🌸Mom's Journals, entry #1

My dad recently found two journals that belonged to my mother and gifted them to me—what a treasure!  S he often wrote positive messages and quotes on index cards and placed them strategically throughout the house. I never knew, until today, that she also kept journals filled with these quotes and messages. I've decided to share the wonderful and inspiring entries from her journals with you. I hope you enjoy reading them and that they bring you inspiration or teach you something new. I'll be posting one page at a time, so I hope you'll keep checking back for more.
