🌸Mom's Journals, entry #10

🌸 Reflections from My Mom’s Journals – Entry #10 Choose to live in Joy. Choose to live in Peace. Strive for excellence, not perfection. - Vince Lombardi Realize and accept that life is not fair. Learn from the past.  Plan for the future.   Don’t sweat the small stuff.  It’s all small stuff.   - Richard Carlson “Realize and accept that life is not fair. Learn from the past and plan for the future.” How often have I found myself thinking, "This just isn’t fair!" But what is fair, really? If we lived a perfectly charmed—or Instagram-filtered—life, would that feel more fair? Sometimes, I wonder if we’re confusing fairness with entitlement. We work so hard for a specific goal, and when it doesn’t materialize, we feel wronged. Why? Is it because we’ve seen others succeed with seemingly little effort? If they can do it, why not me? Take Suzie and John, for example. Maybe they have the picture-perfect marriage. And maybe it feels unfair that you don’t. But what if S...

🌸Mom’s Journals, entry #9

🌸 Reflections from My Mom’s Journals, Post #9 🌸Thoughts on choosing you circles and being a survivor "Someone once asked me how I hold my head up so high after all I’ve been through. I said, 'It's because no matter what, I am a survivor. NEVER A VICTIM!'" - Patricia Buckley "The trick is not to let people know how really weird you are until it’s too late for them to back out."   - Ged Backland "Stick with people who pull the magic out of you and not the madness." "I have already been through hell. So give it your best shot. Not only will I survive, I will WIN!"  - Jovi Pilapil That declaration— "I am a survivor, never a victim!" —is everything. It always gives me chills, especially when I connect it to Maya Angelou 's powerful poem, " Still I Rise ." Still I Rise by Maya Angelou You may write me down in history With your bitter, twisted lies, You may trod me in the very dirt But still, like dust, I...

🌸 Journals, entry #8

🌸 Reflections from Mom’s Journals — Entry #8 “I Am…” When I came across my beautiful mom’s list of “I Am” statements, I found myself running my hand over the page, imagining her voice as she wrote and spoke each word. These were more than affirmations— they were declarations of identity, intention, and belief. Here’s what she wrote: I am LOVE, I am PEACE, I am JOY, I am PROSPERITY, I am FREEDOM, I am HEALTH, I am TALENTED, I am CREATIVE, I am KIND, I a m HAPPY, I am GENEROUS, I am THOUGHTFUL, I am BEAUTIFUL, I am ENERGY, I am INTUITIVE, I am POWERFUL, I am PAIN-FREE, I am WISE, I am ABUNDANCE, I am POSITIVE, I am MOTIVATED, I am FORGIVENESS, I am UNSTOPPABLE, I am HEALED, I am LIGHT, I am DESERVING, I am COMPASSION, I am GRATEFUL, I am FOCUSED, I am CHOSEN, I am LOYAL, I am TRUSTWORTHY, I am CALM, I am PATIENT. Biblical Roots of "I Am" The phrase “I Am” carries deep spiritual significance. In the Christian tradition, the Gospel of John highlights seven powerful “I Am” state...

🌸 Mom's Journal, entry #7

🌸 Reflections from Mom’s Journals — Entry #7 "You will be too much for some people. Those aren’t your people!" I’ve often heard the phrase, “You are so extra!” I must get that fabulous trait from Mommy Dearest ! The picture above is one my mom doodled on—actually a woman’s face made from hundreds of tiny dots . I often wonder how long it took her to create something like that. What was she thinking as she placed each dot? Was she at peace, lost in thought, or simply playing with creativity? When I see beautiful art , I’m always curious about the artist’s emotional state during its creation. Were they feeling joyful? Focused? In flow? Personally, I’ve never created anything beautiful while in a bitter or anxious state. It makes me wonder: how many beautiful things have I missed out on bringing into the world simply because I chose to stay in a negative mindset ? My mom used to say that most things in life come down to a simple choice. When I was upset, I’d announce it loudly...
