Fry's Chocolate (1761) – Established in Bristol, England, by Joseph Fry, this company

Cailler (1819) – Founded in Switzerland by François-Louis Cailler, this company is

considered Switzerland's oldest chocolate brand. Switzerland would later become

Cadbury (1824) – Started by John Cadbury in Birmingham, England, Cadbury began

as a tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate business. It grew into one of the most

Lindt (1845 origins, later expansion in 1879) – While the company traces its roots

to the mid-1800s, Swiss chocolatier Rodolphe Lindt revolutionized chocolate-making

Ghirardelli (1852) – Founded by Italian chocolatier Domenico Ghirardelli during the
